Tis the Season to Sparkle-DT card for The corrosive Challenge

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing the card I made for the new challenge at The Corrosive Challenge Blog.
Challenge #189 Anything Goes. Our last challenge for 2013.
Is it just me or does December only seem to have half as many days than any other month?
Not including February which seems to have double the amount of days.
This year has just zipped by!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Lacey Sunshine Stamps. I've chosen Sleepy Holiday Fred Gnome to make this card with.
I've had these Action Wobble Springs that I've been wanting to play with for a while and thought it would make this card all that more fun! I really love interactive cards.
And so easy to use, you just peel and stick!
The paper is from a MME paper pack called Christmas.
I just got a few new die cuts, and had to try out the super dimensional snowflake dies for this card.
There is a lot of fun and sparkle going on here.
The sparkly broach looking snowflakes are chipboard snowflakes I picked up from Micheal's. I used glossy accents and Stampendous Frantage silver halo mix glitter, and stacked them.
I love this glitter!
I want to have this glitter as wallpaper!
I've been wanting to use it for weeks and now that I have I want to add it to everything! It's a mixture of fine and chunky holographic glitters.
Since I can remember, glitter has always captivated me.
I'm sure I have enough glitter to drown in and just last week I realized there is glitter embedded in my PC!(that kind of makes me smile)
I have body tattoo glitter in over 40 colors and a craft drawer chalk-a-block full of bottles and jars of glitters I have collected over the years(all of this mostly untouched and just hoarded!) and I just recently discovered the magic of Ritz Glitz. Yes I know this product has been out for quite a while now but when it first hit the shelves I refused to look at it. The very last thing I was going to buy was more glitter! But who knew this was such a fun glitter? A glitter that stays put and doesn't come off! A glitter that has such an interesting texture to it that you just want to touch it and rub it! Ooohhh another interactive card right there!
I realize now that there's just no such thing as too much glitter!
I used stardust Ritz Glitz on the bow and crystal glitter on Fred's fur as well as on the holly leaves.
I had a very glitterful week last week as I was blessed with the birth of my 6th grandson! Aidan Elijah! He weighed 7-11 and both he and mommy, Ashley are doing great!

How's all your Christmas prep going?
Do you ever make yourself an unrealistic list of all the things you hope to get done in time for Christmas?
I was going to make some dough art ornaments for a couple people who wanted them to give as gifts.
I haven't really made much dough art in the last 7 years so I was looking forward to making some this past week.
But surprise!
My oven wasn't heating up properly. No wonder my crescent roll taco bake thing didn't bake after an hour and a half!
Good thing I don't do any Christmas baking.
The oven gets replaced next week.
Then a couple days ago my husband surprised me with a trip to Mexico!
Yayyy going away for 9 days to one of my favorite places!
We've been in a deep freeze here for the last week with temps of -30, feels like -40 with the windchill so this will be a very welcome get away!
So now I don't know if I'll feel like putting the tree up when we get back, or if Ill have hand made cards to send out, or if I'll even get any dough ornaments made.
Well whatever gets done gets done. I'm not going to stress about it.
It could be another one of those years where I send out Valentine's cards instead of Christmas cards.
It happens!
The Corrosive Challenge blog will be back with more great sponsors in the New Year so be sure to link up with this out last challenge of 2013!

Stay warm peeps!
Hasta Luego
Hugs!

DT card for The Corrosive Challenge Blog-Swiss Pixie

Hi peeps! Today I'm sharing the card I made for the Happy Holiday challenge at The Corrosive Challenge Blog.
Our sponsor this week is C.C Designs(formerly All That Scraps)
Who knew they carried so many awesome digis? Tons!
I've chosen to use this cute image from the Swiss Pixies collection called Swiss Pixie Heidi
I thought it printed out quite large but I've never figured out how to re-size a digital image with PhotoScape so Heidi turned out to be a pretty big pixie.
I wanted to try and get the bauble to look spherical and shiny so I checked out this tutorial by Debbie Olson
The snowflake border is from Memory box. I added some hoarded and forgotten Class A'Peel dot stickers. They look like little red gems set in gold..
The mesh was from a secret sister swap years ago.
The super thick twine was a  RAK from my friend Glo.
The paper is EP Reflections Christmas.
The sentiment is a Whimsy Stamp mini postage stamp and die cut.
The corner die cut is from SCACD.
I added a piece of wire for the bauble hook and mounted the image with pop dots for lots of dimension.
Yayyy another Christmas card done! I think that's 6 or 7 now. How's your Christmas card making coming along? I'm trying to keep my handmade cards at about 25 this year. That's about half of what I usually do.
I guess it's about time to set the Christmas tree up. Maybe this week. Anyone have theirs up yet?
It seems to be a 3 day project for me. One day to set up the 7 foot  pre-lit tree and fluff  the branches as well as hang garlands around the house.
One day to add the ribbon, bows, and baubles, and one day to add all the hand made and dough art ornaments that I've made over the last 25+ years. When it's all done it's dripping with ornaments.
I'm also hoping my daughter Ashley has her baby this week!!
She didn't want to know what she was having so it's going to be a surprise!
She says she feels it will be a girl though.
I hope everyone has a great week, and Happy Thanksgiving to all my American readers!
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's winter holiday cards so don't forget to link up.
Hugs!

I put a speLl on YOU-DT card for The Corrosive Challenge Blog

the feathers behind the acetate spider makes it look furry

Hi everyone!
I know it's November already and Halloween is over but I didn't get to  make enough Halloween cards again this year.
I still plan to do a couple more this month with images that I've wanted to color up last year already.
The combination of purples, greens, and oranges together rock my world!
I love collecting Halloween paraphernalia because something about those colors as well as miniature spiders and skulls just makes me happy.
Another happy that happened to me in October was making a new friend in blogland!
I can now call Gloria(Creepy Glowbugg) a friend of mine.
We made up a R.A.K  for each other and and mailed it a couple of weeks ago.
It's been a long time since I've participated in a secret sister swap or anything like that and I forgot how much fun it was collecting things that I thought Glo would like.
In return I received an awesome package filled with all kinds of goodies!
All kinds of fabulous things I had never seen before and even some things like ribbon and die cuts that weren't available to me here.
We tried to keep the theme for our R.A.K Halloween/Fall, so I was delighted that I still had a witch image to color up this week for The Corrosive Challenge Blog so I was able to play with some of my new goodies right away.
The theme this week at TCCB is Feathers and Fur
If you have a creation with feathers or fur on it you can play along. Even if just your image has feathers or fur on it, you can still play along.
Our sponsor this week is Rick St. Dennis.
This is the first image I'm using of Ricks.
Wow I am amazed at how intricate his designs are and the amazing detail in them.
I chose to use this crazy witch called I put a SpeLl onYOU
This image just cracked me up when I saw it. The shrunken had and voodoo doll are too fun and I just love how freaked out the snake looks.
Yes it was a lot of fun to color.
The papers are from Bo Bunny Fright Delight, and Teresa Collins Haunted Hallows.
If you look closely you can see a clay cauldron behind the gate
That was handmade and gifted to me by Gloria. She also spoiled me with that wicked Spiderweb gate die cut from Prickly Pear!
I never knew that die existed but how awesome right?
The green weave ribbon, black gems, spider, bat,and brads she also gifted to me as well as some of the papers.
Did I say she spoiled me? She certainly did.
The best part of the gift was the beautiful card Glo sent to me.
I absolutely love everything about this card!
I've had it saved in my favorites for a long time so it' a treasure to me now.

Thanks for stopping by today! I'm looking forward to seeing your feathers and fur.
Hugs

Guest Designer for CMC Classroom-The Stamp Fairy-Jake Wintertime

I added a bow and retook a picture of the add on and way better lighting here

Hi everyone!
I'm thrilled to have been chosen as a GDT for the Color Me Creative Challenge Group!
Last year I took a class with Suzanne and would recommend her online classes to anyone wanting to learn more about Copics.
Also, the ladies that hang out in chat over there are a riot! Hi Tina! Glad I was able to play along this week. Thanks!
This month's theme is Winter themed colors and images and
our sponsor is the Stamp Fairy.
I've used this adorable teddie digi called Jake Wintertime.
I've colored the teddie using the dot technique to give it more texture. I was going to pounce a cotton rag with blender on it but liked it enough the way it was so I kept it fun and easy.
The hat and scarf are paper pieced with paper from Fancy Pants Designs paper pack called Winterland. There's also a few pop dots between the layers. Of course as soon as I had the pieces glued down I wished I had cut the striped paper horizontally instead of vertically.
I also paper pieced the snow and snowballs onto some Sookwang paper and sprinkled Glitter Ritz Crystal Clear glitter on top. I love how that ultra fine glitter feels.
I added a strip ofcheese cloth and sprinkled some Frantage around the edges. I've discovered it works way better to press the Frantage into the versamark on your card. I used to just sprinkle and hope some would stay put. Ha! The sentiment squares are also cut out from the same paper pack.
I love the soft icy colors in that pack.
The bow I added is one I made with the Bow Easy-I can finally make a bow without having to look at the video on Youtube!! Whoowhoo! i'm sure I'll be adding more bows to my cards now.
Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to link up your Winter themed creations with us at CMC

Ladybug Christmas DT card for TSC

How to fix torn paper on the back of your card when you've taped the whole front down just to find out your card base was upside down and you had to rip it off

Hi everyone!
Today I'm sharing the card I made for Tammy's Scrapin' Corner.
This week's challenge is everyone's favorite, Anything Goes
Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Digi Stamps
My bestie loves ladybugs so I've chosen to use the Scene It-Ladybug Christmas. This will most likely be the card she'll be getting for Christmas this year...but we'll see.(Jan,don't look)

This will be the last challenge at Tammy's Scrapin' Corner so be sure to link up your latest creation with us there one last time.
I've enjoyed being on this team so much! We had such awesome sponsors every week.
I was exposed to a lot of great artists and artwork. Some of the images I've colored in the last 8 months have been images that I never would have imagined coloring and yet some of those images have turned into cards that have become some of my favorite creations!
Other images I was fortunate to work with were on my "I can't wait to color that image someday" list.
I loved that over and over again "someday" turned into "this day".
It has been a joy for me to share these cards for TSC because it really pushed me to create a card every week that might inspire creativity.
I always tell everyone, coloring is one of the best therapy's there is!
Wow, I must be so balanced now.
Ha! I'm Thankful for all the consistent therapy I've had. A life may have been saved. :)
Tammy, thank's so much for asking me to join this wonderful team of designers. It was great getting to know every one.
I take my hat off to all the ladies I've worked with who were so fabulous at leaving comments for everyone who linked up with us. You girls rocked at that!
And speaking of hats...I finally sold my Steampunk Pirate Hat on Etsy today!
This morning as I was half asleep still and checking my email I asked my husband what he bought for $$$?
He said nothing and I said well then our paypal account has been hacked!
He came to read the email that had gotten me all in a tizzy and said, it's a payment to you not from you.
I was puzzled as to who would send me that money when it dawned on me that someone must have bought my hat!
I was excited and at the same time I started to miss my hat already.
Just last week I was picking out a permanent spot in my craft room for it.
I hope the buyer gets a lot of enjoyment from it. I loved making it,
I feel a little more confident to list some of my cards on Etsy again. Funny how one sale can do that.
Maybe one day(this year) I'll make some more dough art creations to list as well.
Right now I'm making 11 Christmas tags for a swap at my local scrapbook store. Can't wait to share those with you soon.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hugs!

Arabian Spell-DT card for The Corrosive Challenge

Photographed under different light

Hi! Today I'm sharing the card I  loved making for the challenge at The Corrosive Challenge Blog.
Our theme this week is Tic Tac Toe. Pop over to TCCB and see if your card qualifies.
Our sponsor this week is a new one for me, The Paper Shelter.
I've used this awesome digi image, Arabian Spell.
This is the first image I've colored from TPS and certainly won't be my last!
There is a lot of cuteness to choose from.

My Tic Tac Toe choices were BLING,DIES, and FLOWERS.

The paper is from Prisma Firefly and I used one of the new Stickles colors to outline the image.(Pink Tatfeta)
The flowers are Prisma Fabric Fancies.
The sprinkles of glitter and beads is actually a piece of sheer creme colored fabric that
I've been wanting to use for a long time. I really like the look of it so I think I'll have to remember to use it more often.
The dangley bling on the side is part of a belly ring that was in my stash of broken jewelry.
The heart/wing chip board, the brass mask charm, and the flourishes were inked with metallic pigment ink and heat embossed with SU iridescent ice

I have to make this post short and sweet because two of my grandkids, Morgan and Tanner are staying with me for a few days.  My kids are moving into a new home this weekend and I wanted to help them out by taking the grandbabies.
They wake up early and when they're awake it's go, go, go, so grandma needs to be in bed early...like 2 hours ago would have been good when it was 10:30.

I got some great videos and pics of the grandkids at the play park yesterday.

I love these days!
Have and awesome weekend! Hugs!

Baby Animals DT card for TSC

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing the card I made for the new challenge at Tammy's Scrappin' Corner.
This week's theme is Fall colors.
Our sponsor this week is Eureka Stamps and I've chosen to use the digi image called
I gave the animals all tiny google eyes. That just adds to the cuteness. Now they're oozing cuteness.
The paper is from the Bo Bunny zoology pack and the sentiment is from a SU set
The scrabble tiles were a hoarded item so I'm glad I was finally able to use them.
What were the chances I would happen to have Fall Colored baby pins?
I'm not sure about the placement of the pins in the mesh screen so I'll probably adjust them somewhat and add a couple more and maybe some more scrabble tiles.
I'll add a pick later today of the final adjustment.

 Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope everyone gets to enjoying the holiday.
It's been a fun and busy weekend here! Filled with many blessings...my children and grandchildren are my greatest blessings. I'm so thankful for all the time I get to be with them and I'm thankful for a very loving husband,(who was away working) and family.
So thankful I'm blessed!
If you have the day off how what plans do you have?
I've got a few digi images colored up so I'll be making cards and scanning the web for Paleo leftover turkey recipes.

I'm looking forward to seeing all your Fall colors.
Till next time...hugs!

ETA:Those are now that adjusted pics. Here's one of the original(taken in bad lighting)

Sassy Witch DT card for The Corrosive Challenge Blog

Hello everyone!
Today I'm sharing the card I made for the new challenge at The Corrosive Challenge Blog.
This week's them is Dress Me Up.
Anything costume related meets the challenge requirements.
Our sponsor is Sassy Design Studios.
I love coloring those images and today
I'm using this fabulous digi called Sassy Witch.
 Doesn't she look Sassy!
SDS just had a new mini release so be sure to check them out here.

I used Copics from all four of the grey families to color this image up. 21 shades of grey in all
That's 29 shades short of a book.
The skin is colored with warm greys, the hair is colored with Tone greys, the clothes are colored with cool greys and the broom is colored in natural greys.
The sentiment is from Riley and Company.
The paper is Bo Bunny.
The chipboard spiderweb is from MIC
I pulled a ton of  fun embellishments and sentiment stamps to use for this card because I had so many ideas of  how I wanted it to look.
Here's a pic of my "shopping basket" for this card.
I love Halloween stuff and wanted to use it all.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians celebrating this weekend! And a Happy Columbus Day to my American friends!
The months feel like they're just "flying" by.
I took my nose out of my coloring book just long enough on Thursday to realize it's the Thanksgiving long weekend.
Friday I went down to the local butcher shop to pick up a 15 pound turkey, then headed to the Farmer's Market to get potatoes, fruit, and veggies and made a bountiful Thanksgiving dinner with the kids.
I've only cooked a turkey a couple of times but I think I'm really getting the hang of it.
It's so easy with those oven bags and it cooks surprisingly fast.
The best part about cooking the bird myself is all the left overs I get to have.
There's turkey soup, buns, and pumpkin pie on the menu for today.

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! Pop back in again soon.
Hugs!

Kraftin Kimmie DT Call-Little Miss Muffet

Hello again peeps!
Here's the second card I'm entering into the Kraftin Kimmie DT Call. It's a Birthday Challenge.
I made this card for my daughter Ashley who just  had her 29th birthday at the end of September.
Ashley and Nerissa both didn't get birthday cards last year so I wanted to make sure they each had a special one this year.
Better late than not at all.
The shoemaker's kids go without shoes and the card maker's family goes without cards at the time of the occasion.
As soon as I saw this stamp I knew I was going to use it for Ashley's birthday card.
She is hysterically afraid of spiders. Yet she just keeps attracting them to herself. I think that's because she's always thinking about them. The law of attraction? She thinks the first car she ever bought had a spider nest somewhere in it or under it because she was constantly finding spiders in or on it.
She always has a can of spider raid close by. A can in the car, and can in the house, and a can to take along camping. Yes that's right, camping!
She always has a spider story to tell too!
So we, her friends, and family think it's funny to share spider pictures on her fb wall.
So I just couldn't resist making her a card with this Little Miss Muffet stamp.
Does that make me a bad mom?
I had a bigger realistic looking, metal charm spider I was thinking of using but I didn't think she would enjoy that so I went with the cutie spider brad instead.
This stamp also comes with the sentiment, Don't Let The Little Things Scare You.
Too cute, and so perfect for her. Like a good mother I'm just wanting to instil words of wisdom. Ha!
I've been buying the KKS's ever since my gf, Jan gave me a couple of the fairy stamps a couple of years ago.
What can I say? Kimmie always has such awesome sales going on! Like this week there's 140 stamps on sale at 20-60% off.  If you're a  hoarder collector of stamps check it out!
Somehow in just a couple of years I've collected 70 KKS and have so far used a whopping 5. In a perfect world I would have foam mounted my rubber as soon as I got it in the mail but in reality they just started to accumulate, and when I was inspired to use a certain one I'd have to wait till they were cut out of the rubber.
I had 23 stamps already mounted, which I thought was a ton and then the next time I counted there were 47 stamps that were needing to be mounted.
I  spent a couple of days on this "mounting project" and took pictures of the whole process so I could remind myself not to let them pile up again. There was a ton of rubber laying around.
This time I used that wonderful heat blade tool to cut the rubber out of the foam. That was the cat's meow. Like a hot knife going through butter. I will never cut that sticky foam with scissors again.
Also, I used to use those Kai scissors that SU used to sell to cut the rubber but found the TH scissors work sooooo much better!  Wonder what I should do with my $40 Kai scissors now. Guess I could give them to someone who has a bonsai tree since that's what they're originally for .
The paper is Pion Designs.
I also used a spiderweb button, spider brad, some crystal drops and buttons. A spoon charm, an assortment of flowers, lace and some shabby seam binding ribbon.
The mounting process

All done for now.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
