Bugaboo Dottie Yoga-Challenge #73 @TSC

Hello! Today I'm sharing the card I made for the new challenge at Tammy's Scrapin' Corner.
This week's challenge is #73 Use a Digi.
I've chosen to use the image Dottie Yoga from our sponsor Bugaboo Digi Stamps.
Bugaboo is having a Christmas in July sale right now with 50% off storewide!
Such a great deal and a good time to stock up on all your favorite bugaboos.
I also wanted to make this card for my friend Marni. She recently traveled to Mexico to take a Yoga certification class and now she teaches yoga classes.
I might drop in on one of her classes and check it all out one day but I'm really more of a Pilates kinds of girl. Yeah, Pilates, I should start doing that again. After only 3 consecutive 20 minute Pilates sessions I already feel so much stronger. Strange how we let the things that make us feel so good get pushed to the back burner. Getting started again is always the challenge. Once I start it's easy to continue as long as nothing disrupts my routine too badly...lol...well maybe tomorrow.
This weekend some of the kids came out for a visit and we went out for dinner at Denny's.
Kids eat free on Saturdays. Good times!
I tried to get a pic of the 5 grandkids all sitting together on the bench in the waiting area...This was the best pic...lol...

Have a great week!Hugs!

Tiffany Fairy-Challenge #72 @ TSC

Hi friends, today I'm sharing the card I made for challenge #72 at Tammy's Scrapin' Corner.
This week's challenge theme is Fantasy Creatures.
I'm already excited to see what creations you'll link up with.
I have used this Tiffany Fairy digi from our sponsor, Milk Coffee.
This image  was really fun to color up and I think those are the first flowers I've colored.
The paper is from Pion Design. It's fabulous for that vintage look.
The "Thank You" sentiment is a stamp from Kraftin Kimmie; I stamped and  embossed it with pewter ep.
The circle die cut is a spellbinders. I sprinkled Frantage on the corners of the papers and glittered up the fairy wings with stickles. I managed to capture a lot of glitter in a couple of the photographs. Maybe that's because the stickles were still wet when I took the pictures.

I almost didn't get my card posted on time this morning because as I sat down to blog, I turned the tv on, and as I flicked through the channels I came across the Home Shopping Channel featuring the Vitamix
I've had my eye on that machine for a few weeks now and there it was being showcased and displayed in all it's glory. Here was my chance to own a shiny new red Vitamix with 12 easy payments. Cha Ching!
About a month ago I replaced my Black'n Decker blender/food processor of two years with a Hamilton blender(had to buy a separate food processor too). Today as I'm making my daily green smoothie I discover that the "Low" speed button on my new Hamilton blender no longer works unless I hold it down continuously.  Really?
I have yet to use my new food processor and I guess I never will now since I just bought the ultimate blender which is 12 machines in one. Do you own a Vitamix? What are your favorite recipes?
I'm excited to make ice cream and soup in the Vitamix. It will be a few weeks before it gets delivered.
A few weeks ago I decided to give up gluten just because. Well...because I think the wheat is poison and toxic to us now.  I've also given up sugar since I wasn't craving it anymore due to the fact that I wasn't eating wheat. Then I decided to give up cow's milk. I've always said I could give up a lot of things but never my dairy, especially milk. Amazingly enough I've replaced it with Almond milk and actually enjoy that. I was surprised at how easy that all was. I've even dropped a couple of jean sizes. All because I gave up wheat...who knew?!

Steampunk mermiad-Challenge #69@TSC

T

Hi everyone! Happy Canada Day!
Today I'm sharing the card I made for the new challenge at Tammy's Scrapin' Corner.
Challenge #69
This weeks theme is Summer Fun!
I've chosen this Mermaid Steampunk from our sponsor Delicious Doodles.
I've been waiting for weeks to use this image. Two of my favorite things Mermaids, and Steampunk. Together they are fabulous!
It took a while for me to decide what colors to use...so many possibilities.  I masked the mermaid and used spray inks to color the background sky and water.
I've added a teeny tiny metal watch gear onto the gear on her tail but it didn't really show up well in the photographs. There's a lot more color contrast on the tail than what I could capture with the camera and light that I had.
I may have gotten a little wild with the Fran-tage, because it almost covered up the metal corner piece that I altered with gold ink and a sand dollar charm
The chipboard gears are from Make It Crafty, and the paper is from Prima Art Journal.
Thanks for visiting, and join us this week with your Summer fun creations.

Happy Birthday Austin-Kenny K Airborne

Hi everyone!
Today I'm sharing the card I made for a my daughter's boyfriend's son, Austin.
He's an awesome little boy and just turned 11.My daughter Stevie told me he loves skateboarding so I knew this digi, from Kenny K called Airborne would be perfect.
I've seen some amazing cards made with this image and found my inspiration from the following two cards.
Here's Annie's card. Her cards are all so incredible and her coloring is Super Star!
I drew the flames on the skateboard. How clever huh? I got the inspiration for those flames from Heidy's card.
That's brilliant, Heidy!
I also followed the sketch from Something Sketchy
The paper is from Bo Bunny's Surprise collection.
I'm excited to give this card to Austin.
And what 11 year old boy wouldn't get a chuckle about having cooties on their card?! I stamped this All Night Media stamp on the back of his card.

Fairy Happy Birthday-Challenge #68 @ TSC

Hello friends! Happy Summer!
Today I'm sharing the card I made for the card challenge going on at Tammy's Scrapin' Corner.
This week's theme is Make A Step Card.
I've never made a step card of any kind before so this was certainly a challenge for me.
There are many different kinds of step cards and I thought I would start with the side step card.
I thought it was quite easy to make after my fourth try at it. Now I could probably make them in my sleep! Well probably not at all but I was surprised at how simple it really was.
Here's the link I used for my instructions. Step Card
This card is smaller and much thinner than most of the cards I make but I was unable to find instructions for a 6"  side step card.
Normally I make my card bases from Super stock. It's 130lb double thick white cardstock. It's thick and gives so much weight to my cards. I love that! It can stand up to all those embellishments I like to pile on my cards. I need to score it slightly with an exacto knife to prevent the fold lines from looking like kaka freying. So since there was a lot of folding to be done for this step card I used SU cardstock.(SU cardstock is 80lb)

One of our sponsors this week is Bugaboo Digi Stamps. I used Girl Fairy Birthday Dust. Our other sponsor is SK Digis
I enlarged the sentiment that comes with the Bugaboo digi and fussy cut the ice cream cones after I colored them with chalks and covered them with a layer of Crackle accent.
I have some Tim Holtz Rock Candy that I've never used so I tried it on the fairy wings. They looked okay but really muted the colors because of the thickness of the glaze. Yeah I should have used Crackle accent for the wings too.
The paper is from Teressa Collins. The circular birthday sentiment is from SK Digis.
Thanks for stopping by!
And thanks so much for your wonderful comments every week!!

Pony Express-Challenge #65@TSC

Hello friends, today I'm sharing the card I made for challenge #65 at Tammy's Scrapin' Corner.
This week's theme is Texture.
Our sponsor this week is QRK Designs.
I've chosen a digi called Pony Express.
The texture I added to my card is Pop dots, Metal, Baker's twine, and glitter
The paper is from a 6x6 glitter paper pack by Best Creations Ink called Cowboy Up.
As soon as I saw this image I knew I wanted to use it on a card for friend's of ours, Kevin, and Cheryl, who we met on the first High Seas Rally Cruise we went on four years ago.
We were fortunate to meet up with them and other HSR friends last Spring on a regular cruise. They are from Georgia and are very dear to our hearts.
Kevin has had a long career with the US Postal Service and finally retired this year. His friends call him Mailman. His wife Cheryl also works for the US Postal service. Her friends call her Mailbox. Too fun! They both ride their own bikes.

Have you seen the Ikea Raskog cart yet?
There was a huge thread about it on Two Peas In A Bucket. I've been a Pea for over 11 years and know that if the Peas love something that chances are I will love it too. They are great enablers!
And they were right when they said this cart is awesome for scrapbooking. It really holds a lot!
I love the color too.
Since I scrap at the dining room table but have all my supplies in my scraproom, I  and need to carry my supplies back and forth from room to room. This cart is just ideal for me.! I see another one in my future very soon. I painted the milk can that's in the picture about 16 years ago when I used to paint.
Thanks for the visit...have a wonderful first week of June.
