Aurora Wings Viridis Incendia-DT Card for The Corrosive Challenge Blog

Today I'm sharing the card I made for the new challenge at The Corrosive Challenge Blog.
The theme is Color Me Happy.
We have two  awesome sponsors for this challenge; ArtbyMiran, and Aurora Wings.
I love the Aurora Wings digis and every time I color one up it feels magical.
The detail is so awesome and so many of these delightful images feel like they were picked right from my dreams.
This beautiful image called, Viridis Incendia-Carnivorous Plants is a perfect example of that...just this past weekend I had a dream that I had a butterfly fly into my open mouth with it's wings spread over my lips. Even the colors I chose reflect what I saw in my dream.
I think I was just nervous about getting my card done in time because we've been spending as much time as we can at the lake, and I was fretting about not having enough time to color this intricate and detailed digi.
We bought our first trailer this Summer and have it out at the lake lot so everything's ready to go anytime we can get away and get out there.
I've only ever camped in a tent and this trailer is like a castle to me.
I'm now calling it Glamping instead of camping.
Hmm...maybe it was all the fresh air but what does it mean to dream of eating butterflies...?

So...I had about 30 markers out and just played around with a bunch of hues and layered a lot of BV20 over the greens and purples to darken the deepest colors.
The paper I used came from a Prima paper pack called Firefly(discontinued) :(
I sponged some VersaMark  randomly over the paper and sprinkled Hologram embossing powder over it, embossing with a heat gun.
The metal TH caption reads, "Capture Life's Moments"
The brads I used were lime green but I decided they should be orange and since I don't have orange brads I tried coloring them with my copics. That worked out awesome!
I added some rhinestones and Stickles over the web.
The metal butterfly was colored slightly with a Copic marker and I added some Stickles to that as well.
The assorted leaves I dug up out of my dough art drawers(the drawers I keep all of my dough art paraphernalia in)
So phew! Sigh of relief...I got my card done in time and I am in love with it!
I was thinking, "keep it simple" again...hehe!
So if you've done something creative with any color medium out there be sure to link up with us at TCCB for some great prizes from our sponsors.
You can find the Aurora Wings blog here.

Have yourself an awesome couple of weeks.
If anyone needs me I'll be out at the lake Glamping like a Boss and capturing life's moments!
Hugs!

Morticia Siren-DT card for The Corrosive Challenge Blog

Hi!
Today I'm sharing the tag I made for the new challenge at The Corrosive Challenge Blog.
Our generous sponsor this fortnight is Lacy Sunshine!
You'll find all kinds of wonderful in her shop.
I fell in love with this beautiful digi called, Morticia Siren Sun Kissed Mermaid! I know I'll color this image up many times over!
The theme of our new challenge is, "Crop It"
My siren was way too lovely to crop but I did crop out the rock she was originally sitting on which you can see here.
I fussy cut my image and placed it on a tag I made with alcohol inks on a glossy surface.
How awesome that I just happened to have teeny tiny rhinestones in the exact shapes and sizes of all the jewels on Morticia's tiara! I know right?!
I used my Tiny Attacher  to staple on the fish net and placed a little piece of cheesecloth behind the image.
I  used Liquitex molding paste with clear beads on the edge of my tag to adhere the shells and also placed some on the fish net. Then I added gold beads and glitter over top while the paste was still wet.
The sentiment, "Have a Beachin' Day is from a Kraftin Kimmie Mermaid sayings set.
I love how it turned out!
If you've used a cropped image on your creation be sure to link up with us at TCCB and you could win some lovely new digis from Lacy Sunshine!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs!
