As soon as I got this digi I knew I wanted Kira to have fun spunky hair, so I gave her that fun two toned look. I paper pieced her tiny little socks with coordinating paper from the 6x6 Kaisercraft Utopia collection paper pad that I used to make this card. That is some fun paper! Some of it being spot varnished, foiled, and flocked.
I had made the miniature pencils out of wooden skewers a few years ago to use in my dough art creations of "teacher ornaments" and still had a few pencils in my supplies. Happy day, I finally got to use my Tim Holtz tiny attacher stapler to staple the stamped WRMM file tab label to the card.(I won that stamp in a blog hop) I couldn't believe I had the perfect sentiment for this card, "back to class" in my stash of stamps! It was from the magnetic MM set called, "Express it". And it was the perfect size! I love it when my years of hoarding craft and scrapbook supplies pays off and I'm able to create the best card I can imagine. What a great way to accept the beginning of a new school year...with a fun card! I wish I had thought of that when my children were small. I'm sure they would have loved a card to mark the occasion. Maybe with a gift card or a few bucks inside to spend on a slushie after school. I'm so blessed to have a second opportunity to do that with my grandchildren!
Thanks so much for stopping by today and be sure to hop on over to the Tickled Pink blog to see what the other Pinkette design team members have created with this fabulous image.
